What to Expect

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome! And Come on in! We are excited you took some time out of your busy day to learn more about our congregation and that which The Lord has to offer His people at our church. We are a group of people who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the True and Living Lord, who sacrificed His life, to bring Eternal Life and forgiveness to all who believe in Him. We are gathered every week to be reminded of what the Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) has done and is doing for the world.

When you come to visit on Sunday morning, your first visit show up 15-20 minutes early, climb out of your car and just walk through the double doors on the left side of the parking lot. You will be warmly welcomed and greeted by others who are gathering to receive the gifts The Lord has promised to us in His Word. God’s Word is known as the Bible. It is Words the Holy Spirit has given to us through God’s recorded interaction with His people. This time of gathering is typically about an hour long and is what we call a worship service.

Our worship service comes directly from the Word of God not the word of man. We speak, sing, and confess the very words which the Holy Spirit has given to us. The flow of our worship is that God speaks to us through His Word, and we respond back to Him by speaking His Word. This is a constant back and forth interaction between Christ and His Church of believers. We receive God’s promised blessings through the work of the Holy Spirit as we hear God’s Word. This is the way in which God calls, gathers, enlightens, makes holy, and keeps His church on earth in the true Christian Faith.

During the service twice a month we have something called Communion or the Lord’s Supper. And we believe it to be exactly those things in accordance with God’s Word. He has told us to “Do this Supper in remembrance of Him.” It is something that Jesus Christ instituted with His followers while with us here on earth. It is The Lord’s meal for His followers to partake in. So those who have already undergone instruction from God’s Word and became members of our congregation or our sister congregations come forward to receive that which Christ told them to. Those who are coming forward to the Lord’s Supper are stating they have a Common- Union with the others who are at the railing. We are stating we all believe, The Word of God as we have been taught it from Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, (that’s how we get the name Lutheran), and are in agreement with one another as we confess from God’s Word the Historic Christian Faith dating back over 2000 years.

After Worship we join in “fellowship” with one another in the Fellowship Hall. We come and talk about our weeks, and what is going on in our lives. We enjoy snacks prepared by fellow members and just encourage one another each and every week as we get ready to live our lives in the Christian Faith. We also have Bible Study at 8:15 before Worship Services where Pastor leads and guides us through God’s Word and discusses with us how the Bible relates to our daily lives. There are even more places and opportunities for you to connect to our congregation of believers, please enjoy your visit on our Website as you consider joining us!
